Mr. Bertie Ahern speaks from his experience as former Taoiseach of Ireland to commit to the Good Friday Agreement
One of the iconic peace deals, the Agreement has been often hailed as an example of how through pragmatism and concern for the hopes and aspirations of opposing parties, differences can be reconciled. How did the UK and Irish governments and the parties of Northern Ireland bring the seemingly intractable conflict (known euphemistically as “The Troubles”) to an end?
DIF-Bayern, with the kind support of the General Consulate of Ireland in Munich and the Embassy of Ireland in Berlin, is delighted to welcome Mr. Bertie Ahern, former Taoiseach of Ireland and co-author of the Good Friday Agreement, to give a talk on the Good Friday Agreement in this the 20 anniversary year of the signing of the Agreement.
